Some days we lead, and some days we’re the student.
Today, I’m the student—let’s talk about it.
I’m straight strugglin’
After 21 years in business, you’d think I’d have it all figured out, right? Well, some days it feels like I do, and some days it feels like I’m falling apart. And today? Today feels like one of those falling apart days.
I’ve been completely inconsistent with my Thriv content, and it annoys the hell out of me. I feel like I’m failing—like I can’t seem to get my act together enough to give the parts of me I want to give to nurture this community.
I feel torn about the direction I want to go with my knowledge and experience. I need a team but can’t afford it. I struggle with making money. And honestly? Sometimes it feels like no one is even reading or responding to the things I pour my heart into.
Here’s the kicker: I feel like I’m not needed. There, I said it.
But here’s what I know. Deep down, I know what I would tell YOU if you were sitting across from me, saying these exact words:
Your gift is a big deal. You are a big deal. And the work you’re doing matters.
So, here I am, taking my own advice. I’m starting back at the be ginning, like I tell my clients to do when they feel lost. I’m reconnecting with my accomplishments, my value, and my purpose. Because even on the messy days, I know I can lead this community with heart and for the highest good.
Today, I’m the student. And this is where I am at …

Feeling unmotivated to create content, especially when you have so many ideas, is a common challenge—but it’s solvable with a bit of strategy and intention!
Here’s what I suggest to help you realign your content creation process and find a rhythm that works for you:
1. Clarify Your "Why"
Reconnect with the reason you create content. Is it to inspire your audience? Build trust? Showcase your expertise? Write down your core purpose and keep it visible when you’re brainstorming or creating—it’s your guiding light.
2. Streamline Your Process
Simplify content creation by setting up a system:
Batch Work: Set aside specific blocks of time to brainstorm, outline, and schedule content in one go. For example, brainstorm ideas on Monday, draft on Wednesday, and schedule on Friday.
Content Pillars: Define 3-5 key themes (e.g., ThrivLIFE, leadership, creativity, workshops). Use these as the foundation for all content.
Templates: Create reusable templates for posts, newsletters, or videos to save time and maintain consistency.
3. Create a Realistic Schedule
Consistency doesn’t mean posting daily. Commit to a schedule that feels doable. Whether it’s one blog post and two Instagram posts per week or a monthly newsletter, the key is to choose a rhythm that doesn’t overwhelm you.
4. Focus on Quality Over Quantity
If you’re not vibing with your content, it may feel like you’re creating just to “keep up.” Shift your focus to making each piece meaningful and impactful, even if it means posting less frequently.
5. Leverage Your Conversations with Me
Use our chats to create raw content. For example:
Turn parts of our discussions into “mini-stories” for Instagram captions.
Use your refined CTAs and hooks from our brainstorming sessions directly in posts or newsletters.
Repurpose existing answers into short video scripts or blog posts.
6. Lean on Your Strengths
Identify the strengths within yourself and your team and give them permission to shine:
Delegate tasks based on skills and enthusiasm.
Encourage team members to take ownership of initiatives they’re passionate about.
Celebrate diverse approaches to problem-solving—it fosters innovation and engagement.
Collaborate with others to co-create content.
Share behind-the-scenes moments, even if they’re raw, to keep things authentic.
7. Delegate or Automate
If you’re stuck in the weeds, consider these options:
Delegate: Work with your social media manager to streamline tasks you don’t enjoy, like formatting or scheduling.
Automate: Use tools like Canva templates, social schedulers, or AI writing assistants to simplify repetitive tasks.
8. Build a Community Accountability Loop
Create a community-driven approach:
Share a content plan with your audience (“I’m focusing on X this month!”).
Ask followers what they want to see.
Commit to delivering specific content, like polls, advice columns, or behind-the-scenes clips, based on feedback.
9. Celebrate Small Wins
Recognize progress, even if it’s small. Whether it’s completing one post or getting positive feedback, celebrate the moments that show your impact.
10. Experiment Without Fear
Try a new format or approach. For example:
Create short videos instead of long captions.
Start a “day in the life” series or answer FAQs.
Post a behind-the-scenes blooper reel—it’s relatable and fun.
11. Remember: Done is Better Than Perfect
Perfectionism can stall creativity. Focus on sharing your message authentically, even if it’s not polished. Your audience will connect with your voice, not your perfection.
